How should I care for my new jewelry?
The gold-tone & silver-tone platings are of the finest quality. All the pieces you see are both Nickel & Lead free. The gemstones are Grade A+ quality. Please handle your jewelry with care. To sustain the look of your new jewelry it is best to avoid wearing pieces while sleeping, showering, swimming, etc. Please avoid any chemically enhanced fluids or wipes like hairsprays, perfumes, body lotions or deodorants. Put your jewelry on after you’ve applied your makeup, lotion and perfume. Store the piece in the jewelry box it was shipped in while not wearing. Over time your jewelry may naturally change color depending on air, perfumes, skin acidity, and many other environmental factors. Unfortunately this is a normal occurrence.
How should I clean my gold or silver toned jewelry?
Gold or silver tone jewelry can be wiped with a soft, lint-free cloth without chemically enhanced fluids. Please do not use any other cloth to clean this type of jewelry. Please avoid tissue/paper towels & rubbing, this will cause tarnishing.
What is Gold Filled jewelry?
Gold filled jewelry or Doublé (Dutch) is made by forming a tube of gold and filling it with a base metal, usually brass. The gold content is 5% or 1/20th of the total metal content of the piece. This is not the same as gold plated jewelry. Gold Filled jewelry contains 100 times more gold than gold plated pieces. Gold filled jewelry is strong, durable, resistant to tarnish & with reasonable care it should last a lifetime without showing signs of wear.
How should I clean my Sterling Silver & Gold Filled jewelry?
All sterling silver is made from high quality 925 silver and may oxidize over time depending on air, perfumes, skin acidity & many other environmental factors. Sterling silver & Gold filled jewelry may be polished with a jewelry cleaning cloth to restore its shine. Dirty jewelry can be soaked in warm water with a tablespoon of mild laundry detergent (no bleach) for a couple of minutes. Brush gently with a toothbrush, rinse with clean water & let air dry.
How should I clean crystals, pearls & gemstones?
Pearls can be wiped with a soft, lint-free cloth. The cloth can be dry or dampened, however, it should never be completely submerged in water. If damp, allow the pearls to air dry before putting them away. Dirty pearls can be cleaned with mild soap and water solution. Crystals & gemstones can be restored by wiping them using baby wipes and then cleaning it further with a dry, smooth & clean cloth.
Which pieces are best to wear if I have extreme allergies?
First, it’s best to find out what you’re allergic to by doing an allergy test by your local dermatologist. All the pieces are Nickel & Lead free, but of course you can be allergic to other metals. In this case we would advise you to wear our gold filled & sterling silver jewelry to avoid major skin irritations.
